Asigra takes block-level, incremental backups to ensure that once an initial backup has been taken all following backups will only process changes made to a file. This makes all backups following the initial seed incredibly efficient, and reduces backup windows to a bare minimum duration.
Incremental backups also help to greatly reduce the required storage capacity, as each backed up file is only stored once in full, with the incremental changes added each time. This greatly reduces the cost of the service, as it is far more cost-efficient than taking full backups each time, which then have to be stored individually.
